I have signed up to be a contributor on the 'Women Left Waiting' blog event. This event is to recognize the sacrifices made by all women related to someone serving in our US Military. This includes Grandmothers, Mothers, Friends, Sisters, Spouses, Fiances, & Girlfriends.
Created by Ms. Jessica at Sugar in my Grits, I was quick to jump at the chance to help out. If you are intersted in this topic, there is still room for a few more contributors. Everyone's story and experience is different, so if you are interested in sharing and joining a network of supportive women (read: they will leave great comments on your blog!), join me in this selfless tribute to courageous and strong willed women everywhere.
If you are interested simply click on the button below to read the details. Otherwise, I will keep you posted of the event and when my posting will be published.
Thanks dolls! Michelle

THANK YOU so much for the heads up. I don't know why it's not working. I clicked on the 'link' button and inserted the address, still nothing.
Sorry for the hassle, but I posted the address as a caption temporarily until I can figure out how to fix it. Maybe I can sweet talk Andi into helping me :) Goodnight for now!
I am from washington too! what part are you from???
Hi Holley - I sent you an email :)
I cannot imagine what it is like for these women. My boyfriend is in the Army, but the Norwegian army is nothing like the one in the US. However I notice how much I miss him, and he's still in Norway - safe, not at war! Best wishes to all the women left waiting, my thoughts are with them.
Thanks for participating! That's how I stumbled upon your blog and I'm looking forward to reading your post!
Hi Sarah Elisabeth!
Being apart is hard, regardless where you other beloved is at. Isn't military service required for all men in Norway?
Hi Clutterholic - welcome to my blog and thanks for stoppinb by :)
I'll check out your blog too!
Yes, when you turn 18 all men have to serve in the military for one year. However a lot of guys cheat their way out of doing it. The entire point of it is so that IF Norway ever was attacked that most men in Norway would at least have some knowledge about how to defend us. Luckily though, they rarely actually leave Norway so us girls left behind don't have to worry about them fighting in real wars.
Sarah Elisabeth - you're right, that's a BIG IF. The legend of the brutal vikings has really worked out for you guys. No one messes with Norway - ha!
