I received an AWARD! See who I tagged next!

I haven't received an award in awhile, and yay for me - Ms. Claudia from THE STORY tagged me with the VERSATILE BLOGGER Award! This is the perfect award for me since I tend to cover a ton of different things on my blog. Who else goes from weapons to mannequins and beer?

The rules of this one is I need to disclose/reveal 10 things about me (geez, don't you guys already know everything about me?) Ok, here goes nothing:

1. I don't watch the American news. I think its filtered propaganda.

2. I have a huge soft spot for the elderly and think their stories are amazing

3. When I was 22 I got 'married' via the fax machine ( I was in Texas, he was in Washington). No vows or anything - just a signature. Yeah.....that marriage didn't work out. I can laugh at it now. What was I thinking?

4. After watching Pulp Fiction, I cut my hair like Uma Thurman and dyed it purple/red. I loved it, but there were NO DATES to be had with that gaudy hair color.

5. I like Star Trek and Sci-Fi movies, No, I'm not a nerd - promise.  Well, maybe a little.

6. When I lived in South Korea, I ate at this restaurant every Saturday night after drinking with my friends. I thought it was BBQ beef or pork (it had a sauce on it and was minced). Nope - it was fricking CAT!!Ugh.

7. I love cats (don't confuse yourself with the above item), and would love to have one as a pet but I'm horribly allergic to all animals and birds. If you know of a good cat photo blog - let me know.

8. I can't swim and do this weird dog-paddle thing in the water

9. I can not handle the sound of someone 'whistling'. Not the cheering type of whistling.  I'm talking about the guy who whistles a tune at the grocery store. Its like hearing nails on a chalkboard.

10. I saw the Ann Frank house in Amsterdam. That is the only thing I remember of that trip.

The other rules are to pick 15 bloggers to pass the award on to. Wow -15?  For sleep  purposes (I'm EXHAUSTED. Fifi and the dumb wind made for a long day), I'm going to adjust this number to 8. I tag the following FABULOUS BLOGGERS with the Versatile Blogger Award!
  1. Jello's Kitchen
  2. Green Tea and Cupcakes
  3. Francy
  4. Victory Vintage
  5. Midnight Pie
  6. The Beara Necessities
  7. Behind the Leopard Glasses
  8. Radical Rambling and Thoughts of a Southern Girl

Thank you Claudia - you're the best!

Note: If any of my tagged bloggers want a revised button to reflect how many times you have received this award - just leave a comment with the details.

and thanks for reading that last post of mine and commenting. That issue is a "no brainer" for me......the post was to make others think....I am very universalist.....

Thanks for all of the sweet comments.

The whole cat thing was disgusting (if you have a squeamish demeanor: stop reading any further):

When I first arrived in Korea I went to the farmers market and heard 'meowing'. Behind a curtain was a rabbit-style wire cage stuff full of live cats. Paws and feet sticking out because it was so full they couldn't move. I asked the old Korean lady what she was doing with them, and she rubbed her belly and said 'yum'. I was horrified and schemed for weeks of how I could let them go. Needless to say there were a ton of skittish-stray-cats hanging out on the base. Even with that experience, it never occured to me that they would serve it at restaurants. I thought it was an 'underground' thing since they were hidden at the market. Yuck.

Ew. I would have felt the same way. In China they cook and serve dog. It has healing properties according to the Chinese people and at certain times of the year it is harder to find than others.. I have no idea why, but in the winter you would be hard-pressed to find it and might consider yourself 'lucky' if you came upon a restaurant that had frozen some just in case.

If I had something ailing me, it would just have to continue ailing me I'm afraid. I couldn't bring myself to eat a dog. But then, I don't eat meat anyway. If I did, I'd still have pass on the dog and cat.

Aw thank you so much for tagging me in this! I'm honored!
Ew, doesn't sound good about that cat. If I can avoid it, I will never eat dog or cat. The "worst" thing I've ever eaten is horse, but that was a "no-thank-you" helping I tried in Italy. Have a nice week!
